Job Title: City Planner
Department: Planning
Type of position: Full-time
Pay Rate: $18/Hr.
Hours: 40/week Nonexempt
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
City Planner will work under the direction of the Public Works Director. The City Planner performs responsible, professional planning activities involving current planning, long-range planning, and special projects; and performs related work as assigned.

- Interpret maps, site, and building plans and specifications.
- Land use zoning, variance, special exception, and other development applications.
- Perform tasks associated with Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Regulations, and their preparation and implementation.
- Create Approval Letters for Permits
- Input Permits & PZE’s into System
- Business License
- Answer phones
- Prepare clear and concise technical documents, reports, and email correspondence.
- Prepare reports for the Planning Commission, Mayor, and the City Council.
- Attend Planning & Council meetings on needed basis.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse interest groups (for example: developers, property owners, elected officials, staff, community representatives, the public, etc.)
- Update and maintain project excel sheets
- Invoicing
- Tape Measure Skills/Knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
