Meet the Chief of Police

Meet the Chief of Police, Dennis Hutto, Chief of Police City of Parker

In 1997, Chief Will Oost took a chance on a young officer and allowed me to become part of the Parker Police Department. I was assigned number 707 and worked along with Charles Sweatt, who mentored me as a young, inexperienced officer. In 2001, Chief Oost retired and Charles Sweatt then continued to serve the community as the Chief of Police for the City of Parker. I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2006. After I was promoted to Lieutenant, Chief Sweatt then started to mentor me to become his Assistant Chief. Through the years I attended numerous classes sponsored by FDLE and the Florida Police Chiefs’ Association to achieve the level of knowledge required to assume the Chief’s position. In September 2014 with Chief Sweatt’s recommendation and the confidence of the City Council I was selected to serve as the Police Chief of Parker.  It is with great honor that I hold this position and I will continue to provide the same level of efficient and courteous service as I have for my entire career in law enforcement.
